Microblading
vs.
Nano Feathering

What is the difference between 'Microblading' and 'Nano Feathering'?

Microblading is a traditional permanent eyebrow tattoo procedure where it uses a blade of needles to place pigment in the skin. The results are often more bold and thicker in style because of the blade used.

Nano Feathering is the newest eyebrow tattoo technique from South Korea. This technique is semi-permanent and only a single needle is used to tattoo hair-stroke lines on the eyebrows. The effect very closely mimics the look of actual brow hairs, creating a set of soft, natural-looking brows.

Our clients prefer the feather look as it is more natural-looking compared to microblading. Nano feathering does not cause any discoloration or scarring as the technique is so gentle. Overtime, the tattooed pigment will eventually fade away from the skin, making it easy to refresh the color or going back to normal skin.

How long does it last?

Your brows will last between 2-3 years depending on your skin type. Dry to combination skin lasts 2-3 years. For clients with oily skin, the tattoo lasts around 1-1.5 years. It fades faster because of the facial oils. For clients with oily skin, we recommend an annual touch up to keep the brow color looking fresh.

Am I an ideal candidate for this procedure?

Feather Brows is a safe and reliable procedure and suitable for most people. However, we have listed conditions below which disqualifies for any of tattoo procedures.

Numbing creams may also cause birth defects. It is by law that we cannot tattoo anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding/nursing. Thank you for your understanding!)

Procedure

How long does the procedure take?

The initial session takes approximately 2 hours. The appointment includes consultation of your skin type, expected results, numbing process (~20mins), brow mapping, customized color matching and the tattoo procedure.

Does the procedure hurt?

A topical anesthetic is used to numb the brow area prior to the procedure and throughout the procedure. You can expect some minor level of discomfort during the procedure similar to mild stinging sensation (paper cuts hurt more).

Healing

What is the healing process like?

Within a few days, the lines that we've tattooed throughout your brows will begin to flake in certain areas. This is completely normal but it could look a little patchy at first. Nano feathering heals subtly with no scabbing or swelling. To relieve the brows of itchiness or dryness, apply the complimentary ointment provided in the aftercare kit.

Once the flakes fall off naturally, the lines will begin to appear darker and your brows will take a fuller, more natural look within a few weeks.

Does everyone's skin heal the same?

Everyone's skin type is different and therefore may heal differently after the procedure. Depending on your skin type and how well your body heals from small scabs, some areas might retain pigment better than others.

We will do our best to ensure pigment is placed well within the skin to achieve exceptional results. A small percentage of clients might need two touch-ups instead of one. Please be patient and know that we are committed to getting you the results you want.
